Out-of-copyright books read by people who have volunteered their time and voices to this cooperative non-profit project. The vast majority are in English, but other languages and literatures are represented as well.
Access to these services requires a library card from Montgomery County Public Libraries and a PIN. If you have access problems, please call Ask-a-Librarian at 240-777-0001. These audiobooks cannot be downloaded onto the library's computers.
Mac users will be able to download audiobooks in MP3 but not WMA format.
iPod users with the newest version of OverDrive Media Console on a Windows machine will be able to listen to MP3 and many but not all WMA audiobooks when they download first to their computer.
Kindle Fire, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, Blackberry, Nook tablet, and Windows Phone users can download directly to their devices through the OverDrive Media Console app. App users are limited to MP3 audiobooks and EPUB e-books only. When copies are all checked out to others, you may have to place holds. You can have 6 holds at a time. When a hold becomes available, you will receive an email, and you'll have 72 hours to check out the title.
The WIN Catalog, reached from a link labeled "Additional Titles," will display all of the titles offered by publishers that participate with OverDrive e-book and audiobook library lending. From the WIN Catalog, you will be able to purchase e-books and audiobooks for yourself, with a small percentage of the price going to support our library OverDrive collection, and you will be able to recommend titles for the library to purchase.
Downloadable audiobooks for adults, teens, and children. Most of these titles are always available and you won't have to place holds. There are some exceptions to the "always available" rule, including the Pimsleur Language Learning titles.
OneClickDigital Webinars for library patrons are offered monthly. This 45-minute online tour of the service will show you how to create an account, install the OneClickdigital Media Manager, search for content, manage checkouts, and download and transfer audiobooks to listening devices.
After you choose a title to download, you will be asked to create an account with a username and password. Please remember those because you will need them to use this service.
You can choose your checkout period for each title, up to 21 days.
You may have up to 10 titles checked out at a time.
Windows users should install the OneClickDigital MediaManager software.
Mac users should install OneClickDigital Media Manager, which can be downloaded through Apple's App store. Read installation instructions. Mac users with the Media Manager will be able to use every title available in OneClickDigital.
An iPhone App and an Android app are available. App users will be able to use every titles available in OneClickDigital.
