The Montgomery County Commission for Women Counseling and Career Center offers career counseling to individuals (by appointment only) and group workshops on career- and work-related issues. The Center also administers the Strong Interest Inventory, which assesses your vocational interests and characteristics and matches them to your optimal career choices. In addition, it administers the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which can help you understand how your personality type affects your work and personal relationships. A sliding fee scale is available to Montgomery County residents, and the Center is open to both women and men.
There are many online self-assessment resources, including personality indicators, interest inventories, skills surveys, and values inventories. They are well-explained and linked to from The Riley Guide's Self-Assessment Resources page.
The MCPL collection includes these self-assessment titles, among others.
